Illusions to Reality

As I've progressed through my blogs in this class ,I have learned something. I have learned that creativity knows no bounds when confronted with opportunities. We have endless possibilities as to how we create something and it feels like assembling a puzzle which always gives a new surprise each time it's used even though it might look the same. While illusions in architecture show potential on achievable creations, it is important to note what they are made out of.

From the thermal baths to the ancient Greek creations to now modern day constructs, history has been a great teacher to us all and continues to be so. Many methods were implemented and changed along the way to fix what flaws were presented and even old structures were adapted with new technology to support what were previously considered masterpieces like the cathedrals and churches. I would argue if they were ever masterpieces considering how flawed designs were back in the day. The reasoning is because there was a lack of safety in many cases like the dome where at any given moment, it could crumble.

The thing is that no matter how hard you try, no matter what you decide to create, it will all eventually succumb to mother nature. What was taken will surely return to its previous form even if it takes thousands or millions of years. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't keep advancing however, I'm certain that in due time, if the technology allows it, we may see structures that can adapt to new environments and even change in shape to adjust to what environment it's in. A type of morph like the multi use vehicles made to act as a boat and aircraft, as well as land transportation.

To finish off with this journey, I'd like to thank the professor for giving me insight on what to expect from the creations of architects all around the globe. Do not let your thoughts be clouded to the possibilities you can achieve in this field. There will always be obstacles to overcome and visualizations to oversee, but that all comes natural to the world of a designer of this caliber. The most important thing I've learned is to always have an open perspective. Never, ever, lose faith in what is envisioned.
